Xuyu Receives 2025 Academic Science Video of the Year Award from Bilibili

I’m happy to share that a video I created about our Nature paper on human brain development received the 2025 Academic Science Video of the Year Award at the Gezhi Science Communication Awards.

I made and posted the video on Bilibili, a major Chinese video platform, as a way to explain our work directly to the public in Chinese. As both the first and corresponding author of the paper, this recognition means a lot to me. I care deeply not only about doing meaningful science, but also about sharing it in a way that feels engaging and accessible beyond the research community.

The video has now reached 867,000 views and 62,000 likes. It has not yet caught up with my 2022 video about brain organoids, which reached 1.8 million views, but I am still incredibly grateful for the response and support.

I want to thank everyone who watched, shared, and stayed curious about the human brain.
